Joy to the World…
Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 5:55PM As the semester is coming to a close, our staff team had the opportunity to honor our supporters with our annual Christmas Celebration Dinner. We are really grateful for all of our supporters, and we could not work on the campus without their partnership! The Christmas Dinner is a time that we get to thank supporters for their commitment to us and a chance for us to share with them in giving God the glory for what has happened in our region. There were two students who shared their stories of coming into a relationship with Jesus which was an opportunity to show what God is doing and put faces with names. These students are not just numbers or statistics; they are precious to God. Each of the Campus Directors got to introduce their staff team and give a brief update of the four campuses in our region. Some of their prayer requests were for God to raise up laborers at our campuses, to continue building friendships on campus, and that we would become a more diverse ministry. Many of the student leaders in this year’s graduating class have committed to spend the next two years of their life on the mission field in a number of ways. Some will being going to plant a new church in Greensboro, others will be going to Kenya to work with college students or the Uhuru Child Ministry in the slums. Several graduating seniors will be coming on staff here in the Raleigh region. It is amazing to see how these students have prayerfully decided to surrender these next two years to God.
In closing, I would ask you to join me in praying that we would be able to remember the reason we celebrate Christmas—the birth of our Savior—and not be tempted to get caught up in the rush that tends to clutter this time of year.
