This summer, the students are working at different theme parks (Seaworld, Universal Studios, Harry Potter World, and Chick-fil-a) in order to make some summer cash and to love and build relationships with coworkers. The students are really learning how to practically apply what they are learning from their morning Bible devotionals. The job is hard and can be very character building as they learn to be patient and gracious with hot and impatient tourists. I recently had the privilege of visiting the Seaworld crew hard at work. It was so awesome to see these students, standing in the hot sun, but doing it with huge smiles on their faces! These companies love to hire our students because there is something different about them. Seeing them at work brought Colossians 3:23 to mind, which says, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men," and John 13:34-35, which says, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
Please pray that the students would continue to love both one another and the people they are working with, and that they would really get to display the love of Christ in the workplace!!
